RAF Linton-on-Ouse is a Royal Air Force station at Linton-on-Ouse in North Yorkshire, England, 10 miles north-east of York. It is currently a major flying training centre, one of the RAF's busiest airfields and the home of both Central and East Yorkshire Wing WHQ and North Region RHQ. It has satellite stations at RAF Topcliffe, RAF Church Fenton and RAF Dishforth
It is also the home airfield of 642 VGS who are equipped with Vigilant T1 motor-gliders
Resident RAF squadronsEdit
The basic fast-jet training squadrons based at RAF Linton-on-Ouse are 207(R) Squadron and 72(R) Squadron. 76(R) Squadron was re-formed here on 1 April 2007 subsuming the Tucano Air Navigation School before disbanding again in May 2011. All squadrons are/were Reserve squadrons hence the (R) designation. All squadrons operate the Tucano and include both RAF and RN Fleet Air Arm personnel.
