The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme has three levels of training, bronze, silver and gold awards. The DEA is not only open to Air Cadets but also to any young adult aged 14-25. Most individuals who take part in the award start at bronze level and progress through to gold.

Sections[]

Within each level of the award are a number of sections designed to challenge and develop the participants of the award. As individuals progress from bronze to gold the demands and complexities of these challenges increases. Below are the 4 sections of the award:

  • Volunteering
  • Skill
  • Physical
  • Expedition
  • Residential (only at Gold level)
